The Friends of Peacehaven Botanic Park invite you to a free presentation on Thursday 13 February at the Highfields Tavern. (corner or Highfields and Obrien Roads, Highfields).
Continuing the theme of managing our gardens and parks for a sustainable future in a changing environment, our first Tavern Talk for 2020 will be presented by Dan Papacek.
Dan is an entomologist and director of Bugs for Bugs, one of Australia’s leading suppliers of biological control agents. Dan has been involved in integrated pest management (IPM) and has managed beneficial insect mass rearing projects since 1978.
During his presentation, Dan will introduce us to the whole world of beneficial insects and mites and how these can be valuable allies in the fight against pests. Managing these ‘good guys’ and understanding their environmental requirements can help reduce our dependence on pesticides while keeping our plants happy and healthy...
The evening kicks off around 6.00 pm and dinner and drinks are at your own expense. The presentation will start around 7.00 pm
This is the fifth presentation in our popular TAVERN TALK series. If you're planning to come along, please email peacehaven3@gmail.com and let us know how many in your party so we can make sure there are enough seats for everyone.
